Valhalla (from Old Norse Valhöll “hall of the slain”) is a majestic, enormous hall where the god Odin houses the dead whom he deems worthy of dwelling with him. Chosen by Odin, those worthy warriors who die in combat are led by valkyries to Valhalla upon death. In Valhalla, the dead join the masses of those who have died in combat before them, as well as various legendary Germanic heroes and kings, as they prepare to aid Odin during a future epic war to end all wars.
