Valhalla (from Old Norse Valhöll “hall of the slain”) is a majestic hall ruled over by the Norse god Odin. Half of those who die in combat are chosen by Odin to travel to Valhalla upon death, led by Valkyries. In Valhalla, the dead join the masses of those who have died in combat, as well as various legendary heroes and kings, as they prepare to fight alongside Odin in a future war.
